On the other, Wal Mart and Bharti announced a tie up by which this American retail giant would enter Indian markets. In a final irony, the date chosen for this is 15th August 2007. On the heels of this, came news that the British retail giant Tesco was also on the look out for an Indian partner in order to enter India’s markets. Mukesh Ambani’s Reliance has already announced it will be opening ‘chain stores’ to enter the retail sector, and now Birla has also announced its entry.
