| 20th Death Anniversary of Comrade CP Reddy and Comrade SN Singh : Meetings in Memory of Revolutionar |

The year 2004 marked the 20th death anniversary of two of the leaders of the revolutionary communist movement in India, Com. S.N.Singh and Com. Chandrapulla Reddy. Both these leaders had expired in 1984. Com. S.N. Singh died in Vishakhapatnam (Vizag) on 21st October 1984 and on 9th November 1984, Com. C.P. Reddy died in Kolkata. The Central Committee of CPI (ML) - New Democracy gave a call to organize meetings in memory of the invaluable contributions of these leaders to the revolutionary communist movement in India and to acquaint the party ranks and sympathizers of revolutionary movement with their contributions. Delhi: The Delhi Committee of the Party organized a meeting a Gandhi Peace Foundation on 9th November, 2004 which was addressed by the Secretary of Punjab State Committee of CPI(ML)-New Democracy, Com. Darshan Singh Khatkar, as the main speaker. Commencing the proceedings of the meeting, Com. Aparna, Secretary of Delhi Committee of Party, mentioned the immense contribution of Com. C.P. Reddy in developing the concept of resistance struggle in order for political, organizational and military preparation for armed struggle in the country. C.P. Reddy played a leading role in developing resistance struggle in Godavari Valley area alongside the advancement of its theoretical understanding. Com. Aparna also gave a brief description of the long revolutionary life of Com. C.P. Reddy and mentioned his struggle against revisionism and against deviations from revolutionary mass line. His underground life, his work among the girijans, his writings on Marxism and International Communist Movement, and writings explaining the Party line, which made significant contributions to the education of Party activists, were also mentioned. The main speaker of the meeting, Com. Darshan Singh Khatkar, paid tributes to the respected leader, while praising Com. C.P. Reddy’s revolutionary foresightedness. While explaining the concept of resistance struggle as formulated by Com. C.P. Reddy and advanced by the Party, he said that it is neither armed struggle nor militant struggle on immediate issues. Development of squads necessary for the maintenance of people’s struggles makes it an inseparable part of the task of advancement of areas of resistance struggle. Discussing the current situation of the country, Com. Khatkar said that there is a dominant tendency of finding out a solution to the immense problems facing the people within the existing system. But the ruling class is not in a position to offer any solution. Therefore the Communist Revolutionaries in India have the responsibility of taking the movement forward and advancing the consciousness of the people. In order to solve this problem, Com. C.P. Reddy put forward the idea of building sustained areas of resistance struggle in different parts of the country. Malout (Punjab): A meeting was organized in Malout on 9th Nov. 2004 on the occasion of 20th death anniversary of Com. S.N. Singh and Com. C.P. Reddy. The main speaker of the meeting was the General Secretary of the Punjab State Committee of IFTU, Com. Raj Singh, who elaborated the contributions of these leaders in establishing revolutionary mass line in the revolutionary Communist Movement of the country. He also outlined their role in the struggles against various deviations in revolutionary communist movement. The comrades in the meeting pledged to implement the revolutionary teachings of Com. S.N. Singh and Com. C.P. Reddy and to strengthen the revolutionary movement under the leadership of the party. Hyderabad (AP): On 9th Nov. 2004, a meeting was held in Marx Bhawan, Hyderabad on the occasion of 20th death anniversary of Com. C.P. Reddy. Party members, activists and sympathizers of the revolutionary movement attended the meeting. The speakers highlighted his contributions to the revolutionary movement and their relevance to the advancing of revolutionary movement today. Rajahmundry (AP): 20th death anniversary of Com. C.P. Reddy was observed by the East Godavari district committee of the party. Addressing the meeting, district secretary, Com. Tanya, told that Com. C.P. Reddy opposed withdrawal of Telangana Peasants’ Armed Struggle, waged ideological struggle against the revisionist CPI and CPI(M) leadership and laid the foundation of resistance struggle, giving a correct direction to revolutionary movement in India. |
