AP State Committee of CPI(ML)–New Democracy has expressed its deep sorrow at the sudden death of veteran communist revolutionary and state leader of CPI(ML)–Unity Initiative, Com. Mandla Subba Reddy and paid its revolutionary tributes to his memory. Com. Subba Reddy died on April 24th night due to a heart attack in the middle of the treatment when it seemed that he was recovering. Com. Subba Reddy was born in a middle class family in Veligodu in Kurnool district in AP. From his school days he was inspired by communism and participated in several movements against the British imperialists. In 1942 he became a member of the Communist Party of India. Com. Subba Reddy always stood with the revolutionary politics in the two splits in the Indian Communist Movement – that in the CPI in 1964 and a few years later in CPM in the wake of Naxalbari armed struggle. He always remained sincere towards Marxism-Leninism-Mao Thought. He spent 22 years in underground life and participated in several struggles along with Com. CP and Com. Ramnarsaiah. He took a leading role in the struggle of poor peasants and agricultural labourers and for tribal rights. Com. Subba Reddy was deeply pained at the splits among the revolutionaries, and wished to unite all the revolutionaries. But he left us before his dream could come true. |
