Support, Strengthen and vote for Communist Revolutionary Organizations Intensify struggle on people’s issues, develop agrarian revolutionary movement No support and vote to the ruling class and revisionist parties and their alliances- UPA, NDA and Third Front For the election of a new central government 15th Lok sabha election is going to be held. After 1947 many governments have come and go in India but basic situation of the people has not changed. People in semi- colonial and semi-feudal India are still groaning under the exploitation of Imperialism, Feudalism and comprador bureaucrat capitalism. Gap between rich and poor is widening. While a small section of rich is becoming wealthier the condition of common people is precarious. Govts. rather than addressing the problems of the people are serving the interest of Imperialists, MNCs, big bourgeoisie and feudals while suppressing the people by force. They are particularly targeting revolutionary movements. Side by side they are trying to weaken the people’s movements through deception and false promises. Elections to Lok Sabha are being held at a time when world is passing through a global economic crisis and imperialism is trying to shift the burden of the crisis on the backward countries while continuing with their policy of hegemony, domination etc. In our country the impact of deepening economic crisis is adding to the hardships of the people, brought about by the implementation of the anti-people pro-imperialist new economic policies by the ruling classes of the country. Spectre of job losses in the industrial sector, decline in industrial production, stagnation in the agrarian economy, suicides by the peasants and starvation deaths of the rural poor are continuing. The ruling classes are shelving the land reforms and taking away the land of the peasantry and other masses for the aggrandizement of foreign companies and Indian big business houses in the name of SEZ, Industrialization, Urbanization and Development etc. Unemployment among the youths and indebtedness of the peasant masses are increasing. Basic health and educational facilities are increasingly going out of the reach of the poor and middle classes. Prices of essential commodities are rising even as the inflation is coming down. Attacks on the oppressed sections of the people-minorities, tribals, dalits and women are increasing. All these characterize the present situation of India. Conditions of the overwhelming majority of the people are worsening due to the policies being pursued by the ruling classes and their political parties. In this scenario various ruling class parties are vying for power without offering any solution to the problems of the people. Different combinations of the ruling class parties are not even touching the basic issues of the people what to talk of offering any solution for them. Backed by the power of Money, Muscle and Media, they are trying to drown the people’s problems and anger in the din of their bogus electoral alternatives. Parties are moving in and out of these ‘alternatives’ like worn out clothes with the sole objective of enjoying power disregarding people’s concerns. In the deepening economic political crisis, reflected in the growing instability of the ruling class politics with decline of the major ruling class parties, the ruling classes are trying to achieve governmental stability in the atmosphere of growing political instability. This is possible because there is no major difference among the ruling class parties of right, centrist and ‘left’ labels on the basic issues affecting the people or on the direction of policies. This ‘policy consensus’ makes a mockery of the so-called alternatives of the ruling class parties. Their quest of share of power has reached opportunist depths where they can not even forge alliances before elections, opting for division of spoils after the polls. Struggles of the people lie outside the pale of the ruling class parties and their parliamentary politics. Peasants and agricultural labourers’ struggles for land and wages, peasants and tribals struggles against forcible displacement, workers’ struggle against job losses and for statutory rights, struggles of different oppressed sections against attacks on them, struggle of nationalities for their right to self-determination- all mainly fall outside the arena of parliamentary struggle. People are offering sacrifices and enduring hardships to secure their rights. People’s struggles are facing fascist repression from the parties of ruling classes- all India parties and regional parties. Democratic rights of the people are being trampled under foot, fake encounters, and suppression by security forces and attacks by ruling class hoodlums are being resorted to. Besides communist revolutionaries and struggling people, struggles of nationalities and minorities are being subjected to ruthless attacks. The Indian ruling class parties have advanced strategic alliance with US imperialism and are cooperating with US imperialists in their nefarious designs in India subcontinent. They have been cooperating with US rulers in their war of occupation in Afghanistan and extension of their war into Pakistan. However this war is meeting stiff resistance from the patriotic fighters in Afghanistan and mass resistance in Pakistan. With hegemonist designs of US rulers running into difficulties, Indian ruling classes and their parties are seeing an opportunity to forge strategic alliance with US imperialists. ‘Left’ supported Congress led UPA Govt. implemented anti-people policies and pursued strategic alliance with US imperialists In 2004 elections, people did not think India was ‘shining’ nor they felt good. BJP led NDA was defeated. Congress led alliance edged past NDA and with the support of CPM led ‘Left’ parties, they formed the Govt. at the centre. ‘Left’ parties not recognizing pro imperialist pro feudal character of Congress in the pretext of resisting communalism supported this govt. for four years and two months, only withdrawing support to UPA Govt. when elections drew near. UPA Govt. and its leading party, forgetting the fate of ‘India Shining’ campaign of BJP earlier, is going to polls saluting big advances made by India under their rule. Mistaking the growing billions of handful as the prosperity of Indian people, orienting their policies for the benefit of foreign and Indian big business, ‘left’ parties supported Congress led govt. had shown callous disregard for the overwhelming majority of the people. They have furthered strategic alliance with US imperialism even deploying Indian armed personnel in Afghanistan, forging closer relations with Zionist Israel, voting twice against Iran in IAEA and capping it with US-India Nuclear Deal. UPA has facilitated deeper US involvement even in domestic affairs as evidenced in probe in Mumbai attack. Their Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, a darling of US imperialists and Indian big business, had the temerity to claim that colonial rule had been beneficial to India. No wonder his Govt. has sought to commercialize even the legacy of Indian people’s struggle against British colonialism, Jallianwala Bagh. Under the UPA govt. the peasants continued to suffer and their suicides continued in many parts of the country. UPA govt. was totally unwilling to do anything meaningful for ameliorating the hardships of the peasantry. They showcased their Vidarbha package, which was meant for banks and contractors and had nothing worthwhile for peasants and hence failed to stem the suicides of peasants there. UPA govt. and its ‘left’ allies made a lot of their rural employment guarantee scheme (NREGA) which had provided little relief to the rural poor. Even the minimum wages were not paid for work under this scheme, which has become another hotbed of corruption. According to CAG report, only 6% of those registered under the scheme got the full employment i.e. for 100 days. Employment situation in vast countryside continues to be bleak. In fact NREGA was UPA and their ‘left’ allies’ substitute for land reforms which they consigned to the dustbin. In fact the land reforms have been given burial in the period of new economic policies. Under their rule there is no hope for rural poor to get the land. The employment in organized sector continued to decline while trend towards contractualization was speeded up. In the unorganized sectors, the conditions of workers is dismal, they are deprived of statutory rights including minimum wages. Rising unemployment and prices of essential commodities, particularly of food grains, has been the continuing feature of UPA misrule. Per capita food grain availability has been going down and their affordability due to steep rise in their prices is pushing more and more into malnutrition particularly vulnerable sections like women and children. A majority of Indian women suffer from anemia. Conditions of govt. schools and hospitals have continued to deteriorate with growing trends towards privatization of health and education. Corruption which has long seized to be an issue in ruling class politics scaled newer heights. UPA Govt. helped by their ‘left’ allies and supported by opposition ruling class parties unanimously passed SEZ Act, 2005 whereby they sought to forcibly usurp land of the peasants, deprive workers of hard won rights and defraud the state exchequer of the revenue by distributing freebies to the foreign and domestic big business. State Govts. of different ruling class parties went on a spree to sign MoUs with MNCs and acquire land trying to forcibly displace the peasants. Fertile agricultural land was sought to be taken away showing utter disregard to the growing food insecurity in the country. All the ruling class parties declared war against the peasants unwilling to give away their land. Brutal murder of 13 tribals in Kalinganagar in police firing on January 2, 2006 signaled a new wave of resistance of the peasants to the forcible displacement. It was followed by CPM Govt.’s massacre in Nandigram on March 2007. But the resistance of the peasants had arrived. Singur, Erasma, Raigarh, Dadri, Niyamgiri, and other centres became symbols of peasant resistance to the forcible displacement. UPA Govt. made reservations for the OBC students in the institutions run by the Central Govt. but the ruling party had little conviction in it. Leaders of the ruling Congress and opposition BJP openly sided with the anti-reservation movement while other parties of the ruling classes remained silent spectators. Congress machinations came out in open when UPA Govt. piloted a Bill exempting large number of institutions and scientific and technical posts from reservations for SCs and STs. Though its obnoxious provisions met with widespread opposition, they nonetheless showed lack of commitment of Congress and its allies. Congress and its ‘left’ allies talk loudly of their ‘commitment’ to reservation for women in Parliament and assemblies but could not find time to pass the Bill providing that. No other parliamentary party also is serious about the issue or towards rights of women. Congress and its allies make a lot of noise of their secular credentials. This they do only showing their opposition to BJP while they do nothing to ameliorate the conditions of minorities particularly Muslims. Under the UPA rule Muslim youth have been targeted in the name of fighting terrorism. They are being arrested indiscriminately, kept in custody for long periods and killed in fake encounters. Congress led Govt. has refused even judicial enquiry into fake encounters saying that this would harm the morale of the police forces. In fact BJP and Congress are competing as to who is more ruthless against Muslim youths in the name of fighting terrorism. UPA claims of good governance. But it was no less suppressive of democratic rights. Besides attacking people’s movement, in the name of countering ‘terrorism’ in line with black act POTA it promulgated UAPA & NIA acts. People have not forgotten the infamous incident of Manorama rape and murder in Manipur by Assam Rifles Jawans and Manmohan govt’s reluctance to withdraw notorious Armed Forces Special Power Act (AFSPA). Congress led and ‘left’ supported UPA govt. had been expediting the entry of foreign capital in different sectors of economy. They had been showing the entry of foreign money in share market as rising foreign reserves while the trade balance continued to be negative. Explosion of crisis of finance capital in imperialist countries which has its roots in the growing crisis in the real economy has engulfed our country but the rulers have been denying it till it exploded in their face. These apologists of foreign capital are clueless of its reasons and unwilling to take actions required to face it. Their song of praise of new economic policies has been interrupted. Now they are claiming that India would not suffer because they had not quite succeeded to dismantle ‘Nehruvian model’. These shameless cheerleaders of imperialist dependent development are now singing accolades to their failures! But the crisis has already taken heavy toll of the common people and the impact is bound to escalate. The export industries are facing worst crisis with whole industrial towns acquiring ghost look. Workers are being thrown out of jobs with millions have already lost their jobs. Textile garments, jewel polishing and cutting, and the like have been devastated while automobile, steel and other sectors taking a beating. Workers are being laid off, overtime is being stopped, contractualization further speeded up and benefits cut. Much acclaimed service sector dependent on outsourcing from developed capitalist countries is facing the heat from slowing down of demand and protectionist measures being taken by these countries. Indian technical personnel are being forced to return home while quota for visas is being cut. In the name of facing this crisis, the Govt. has only opened its coffers for the big business houses doing little for the unemployed workers and small industrial owners hit by this crisis. This crisis exposes the export oriented imperialist dependent economic model pursued by the ruling classes. The crisis is not limited to financial sector alone but is rooted in the real economy- industries and agriculture. It calls for scrapping of this orientation and developing domestic market, the core of which is to develop purchasing power of the poor peasants, agricultural labourers and workers engaged in unorganized sectors, the overwhelming majority of Indian population. This calls for carrying out radical land reforms and doing away with dependence on imperialists. The Congress Govts. in the states have also implemented the anti-people pro-imperialist policies. Congress Govt. in Andhra Pradesh which came to power when people rejected Naidu’s TDP, has taken off from where Naidu left. Large tracts of land displacing lakhs of people have been taken forcibly displacing lakhs of people in coastal corridor meant for draining rich resources of AP, for real estate business around Hyderabad. While doing nothing for peasants and agricultural labourers Congress Govt. is doing everything to help unscrupulous businessmen loot money and get land as Satyam episode has demonstrated. Under Congress Govt. the corruption has grown enormously and got institutionalized Congress Govt. in AP has continued with neglect of Telengana region. Discrimination against the region continued. Telengana people’s culture and tradition became endangered. In spite of rich resources under development of the region and unemployment of Telengana youths continued. Irrigation Projects for Telengana were neglected though there are two main rivers flowing through Telengana region. Side by side govt is handing over huge tracts of land of the region to MNCs and comprador bourgeoisie companies. Congress had promised formation of separate state of Telengana and this was included even in common Minimum Programme (CMP) but Congress dragged its feet from the Just demand of separate Telengana and ultimately came out in opposition to formation of separate Telengana state. Neglecting Telengana projects they tried to construct Polavaram Project on Godavari river immersing hundreds of villages and displacing lakhs of people particularly tribals. Construction of the project was opposed by different forces including CPI (M-L)-New democracy. It all shows the anti People character of the Congress. Congress led Govt. in Maharashtra has done nothing to ameliorate conditions of peasants, only blaming the peasants themselves for the crisis. To divert the attention of the people for growing unemployment Congress-NCP Govt. aided Raj Thackerey violent campaign against people from Northern states. Congress Govt. in Haryana is doing everything to gift huge tracts of fertile land to MNCs and big business houses while going all out to suppress workers’ struggles as witnessed in Gurgaon and Panipat. Congress govt. in Delhi ignores the abysmal conditions of industrial workers while targeting the poor in the name of beautification of the city. BJP led NDA: No Programme for the People, Creating nostalgia for its anti-people misrule and Unleashing communal campaigns BJP has not yet come to grips for its loss of power in the last elections and has drawn no lessons from it. It is still pursuing communal agenda against minorities while trying to create nostalgia for its earlier stint in power. It is a strong supporter of the pro-imperialist economic policies and pro-US foreign policy. In Gujarat BJP carved out deep communal division carrying out genocide of Muslims in 2002. It followed it up with plethora of concessions to MNCs and big business houses trying to project it as model of development. But the lot of workers in Surat, Ahmedabad and other centres has deteriorated and poor peasants continue to suffer. Advani led BJP is taking India to be larger Gujarat. BJP has tried to deepen communal division in different parts of the country. In Jammu BJP along with Congress took a communal campaign on the issue of Amarnath Yatra. It periodically revives its communal campaign on Ayodhya. BJP led a violent communal campaign against Christian minorities in Orissa, killing hapless victims, raping women and displacing thousands of poor Christians from their homes, all in the name of avenging killing of Lakhanand, a preacher of communal hatred in tribal areas of Orissa. BJP led Govts. in MP and earlier in Rajasthan did everything to promote Hindu communalism. In Chhatisgarh, BJP Govt. is trampling over democratic rights of the people in the name of suppressing CPI (Maoist) there. It has armed and propped up vigilante group- Salwa Judum. BJP came to power in Karnataka after its alliance with JD(S) turned sour. BJP’s rise there is backed by powerful mineral lobby while BJP is unleashing its hoodlums to undermine democratic rights. BJP’s is a junior partner of alliance govts. in Bihar and Punjab. In Bihar JD (U) led Govt. has strengthened the police against people’s movements and its projecting it as an improvement in law and order. With much fanfare it set up Bandopadhyay commission on land reforms but has thrown its report in the dustbin. The lot of rural poor continues to be bad while there is no attempt to open closed industries in Bihar. Its gross mishandling of Kosi floods reflects its anti-people attitude and callous disregard of the interests of the people. Akali Dal led Govt. in Punjab is on privatization spree taking education, health and roads in its ambit while corruption continues to grow. The lot of peasantry continues to worsen. While BJP led NDA has nothing to offer to the people on their basic problems, it is trying to make fight against terrorism as its main election plank portraying Manmohan Singh led UPA govt. as ‘weak on terror’. It hoped that Mumbai attacks will propel it to electoral success in Rajasthan and Delhi but its plank was rejected in elections there. BJP targets minorities in the name of its fight against ‘terror’, projecting police officers guilty of fake encounters and tortures as heroes. BJP hopes that people’s disillusionment with UPA misrule will bring it back to power but its policies have no relevance to the vast sections of masses. Its base continues to be narrow, sectarian and chauvinist. BJP’s campaign has not gathered steam and it is reflected in the growing difficulties it is facing with its allies and its inability to get more allies from regional parties. BJP’s 11 year old ally in Orissa, Naveen Patnaik led BJD has snapped its ties with BJP over seat adjustment. Naveen Patnaik is trying to divert the people’s attention from his misrule. His govt. had gunned down 13 tribals in January 2006 in Kalinganagar, its hoodlums attacked people protesting against PoSCo in Jagatsinghpur and collaborated with RSS-BJP hoodlums in their carnage against Christians in 2008 and also in 2007. Naveen Patnaik Govt. has thrown resource rich Orissa to the MNCs and big business sharks. His Govt. has done nothing worthwhile for tribals, poor peasants and sharecroppers in coastal Orissa. ‘Left’ Parties and their phony alternatives Revisionist parties (called left parties) led by CPM sustained Congress led Govt. in power for over four years and they prided themselves about the ‘achievements’ of that govt. They were part and parcel of the anti-people policies of UPA Govt. They supported enactment of SEZ Act 2005 in parliament and passed West Bengal SEZ Act, 2003 in west Bengal Assembly even before Central legislation was passed. They claim that Congress led Govt. ‘betrayed’ them on foreign policy. In that also they are hypocritical having all along connived in the deployment of Indian Armed personnel in Afghanistan and forging closer relations with Israel, to give a few examples. They withdrew support to the UPA Govt. on the issue of US India Nuclear Deal. But on this issue too their stand has been far from principled. Their leaders kept on giving certificates to Manmohan Singh fully agreeing with him on the issue, had agreed with the Govt. approaching IAEA for safeguards agreement as their cadres and police unleashed mayhem in Nandigram, and even withdrew support only after their long term ally Mulayam Singh Yadav had been won over for support to the deal. They wanted pretensions of opposition without letting the govt. fall. In fact the revisionist parties have been articulating twin objectives of keeping BJP out of power and promoting third front with regional parties of ruling classes, as platform for their share in power at the centre and trying to increase the same, brandishing one or the other as the opportunity presents. After their withdrawal of support to UPA they are again trying to cobble up what they call as Third Front. Their earlier allies have remained with UPA and they are now cobbling together parties which were part of NDA or have been BJP allies. CPM’s Secular Certification Agency has swung into action to include BJP allies like TDP, AIADMK, JD(S) and even BJD. Even BSP has had no qualms in joining hands with anyone including BJP for power. These parties represent nothing different in policy framework from other ruling class parties. As for example when TDP was in power he was projected by imperialists and World Bank as a model of development. TDP govt. enthusiastically carried out anti national anti people policies of world Bank, faithfully served the interest of imperialist and big business houses, brutally suppressed peoples movement particularly land movement, killed many communist revolutionaries in the name of police encounter. The notorious police firing incident and killing of anti electricity bill hike protesters during TDP rule is still afresh among the minds of the people and Chandrababu is non repentant nor have sought public forgiveness for the misdeed. In fact even revisionist parties also do not have basic policy difference with other ruling class parties and serve the interest of the same class. Their Third Front is nothing but a ruling class front with no programme, no new policies. The state govts. run by revisionist parties led by CPM have not only implemented the new economic policies but have tried to emerge champions of ruling classes in this aspect. The CPM led ‘Left Front’ Govt. in West Bengal tried to forcibly displace peasants from fertile agricultural land in Singur for Tata and in Nandigram for SEZ of Salim Group from Indonesia. They resorted to brutal suppression of peasants in these places. Well trained and equipped CPM goondas went on a killing spree with support from police committing murders, rapes, burning of houses and looting of belongings. But the people resisted and veil of invincibility of CPM’s anti-people ‘cadre raj’ with help form police was lifted. The lava of mass anger burst forth. Corruption in PDS and panchayats was fought against. Police atrocities on tribals were resisted in Lalgrah. Conditions of Muslims under these self-professed messiahs of minorities laid bare the truth of their rule. Rijanur Rahaman death incident is a pointer to that. Nandigram has become a symbol of resistance to the anti-people misrule of CPM led govt. and marked large-scale isolation of CPM from peasant CPI (M) is saying of Industrialization and Development within this system accusing anti displacement struggles as reactionary. In the name of development they are inviting big capitalists and MNCs for investment in Bengal. While showing fake opposition to entry of imperialists in retail trade they are inviting Ambani like big comprador capitalists thus endangering the livelihood of small and medium traders, hawkers and vendors. They have almost left the slogan of land reforms and are acting as agents to big capitalists for usurping lands of peasantry In Kerala, CPM led state govt. has tried to tread the same path. Moreover, the way the whole party has come out to defend its state secretary form corruption charges in SNC-Lavalin case has showed CPM in it true colour. Nandigram and SNC-Lavalin mark thorough exposure of CPM, the leader of ‘left’ parties in popular perception too. People have come to regard them what they actually are i.e. like other ruling class parties. . CPM allies in the ‘Left’ front – CPI, RSP and Forward Bloc have tried to utilize the difficulties of big brother to extract more concessions from the big brother in the terms of their share in power. But they do not have any basic policy difference with CPM. Even as the revisionist parties of the CPM led ‘Left’ Front are getting increasingly exposed, CPI(ML)-Liberation, late entrant to the revisionist fraternity, has forged electoral alliance with CPM, CPI in Bihar. Liberation everywhere calls for electoral tie-up with the revisionist parties but this time it has succeeded in Bihar as these parties have lost their erstwhile partners- RJD, LJP to UPA. It exposes CPI (ML)-Liberation which talks of the left and looks to the right. For quite some time they have abandoned land struggles and have been focused only on electoral struggle. BSP: Anything for Power Formed to fight the caste oppression of dalits, BSP has come a long way. It has never addressed the real causes of the oppression of dalits and other oppressed castes i.e. land issue. Of late it has befriended upper castes, particularly Brahmins for securing greater share of power. Its govt. in UP has neglected the causes of poor masses including dalits and has reduced the struggle of poor and oppressed to mere symbolism of electing its leader Mayawati to power. Its govt. is serving the interests of big business houses resorting to large scale displacement for Ganga Expressway, suppression of workers e.g. in Noida and Greater Noida, and siding with landlords suppressing the rural poor everywhere. Its govt. has taken no step for distribution of land among the landless or securing their rights. Its govt. no way represents nothing different on basic issues. Samajwadi Party of Mulayam Singh Yadav is an important ruling class party in UP. But its rule represented nothing different from earlier ones. From the camp of ‘left’ parties it migrated to UPA supporting Manmohan Singh Govt. on Nuclear Deal which it had been opposing earlier. NCP, AGP, Praja Rajyam, JD(S) and other regional parties too have no basic difference relying on different sections for their share in power. Having been defeated in the last assembly elections Trianamool Congress (TMC) led by Mamata Banerjee had a sort of revival due to Nandigram and Singur struggles. It stood by the peasants of Nandigram and Singur in their struggle against forcible displacement though articulating the issues in the ruling class framework. In case of Singur while revolutionaries are demanding for return of entire acquired land to peasantry including share croppers and agricultural labourers, Mamata Banerjee giving up the longtime demand of the movement ‘No agricultural land for Industry’ is now demanding for ‘Return of land of unwilling peasants’ and ‘Global Tender’ for ‘Industrialization’ to the rest of the acquired land. TMC is neither demanding scrapping of SEZ Act, nor demanding cancellation of 1894 Land Acquisition Act and Mamata never raised any opposition to these Acts in Parliament. TMC’s hazy position on the just movement of ‘No entry of MNCs and big business houses in retail trade’ and its opposition to recent Jute strike of Bengal points to the class character of the party. Its electoral alliance with Congress further proves that TMC had been part of some people’s struggles due to electoral exigencies rather than any principled position. Tamil Nadu parties like DMK, AIADMK, PMK etc. are regional parties of ruling classes. They talk of rights of Tamils but have remained virtually silent on plight of Sri Lankan Tamils while Indian Govt. has openly aided and supported Sri Lankan govt. in war against Tamil Tigers. Despite empty threats DMK and PMK have remained part of power at the Centre. Regional parties of ruling classes which have been successively gaining strength over the last two decades follow the policy frame work of ruling classes. While they represent the specific sections of people, they are vehicles of their participation in the present power structure. Though they may benefit from the anger of the people against the major ruling class parties- Congress and BJP, they represent nothing different from them in terms of basic policy framework. Their earlier stints in power at the Centre supported by BJP and Congress earlier amply prove to their character. It is also true of ‘left’ parties which have been part of these power projects. Appeal of CPI (ML)-New Democracy to the people These elections are being held at a time when the vast majority of the people are groaning under the increasing burden imposed by the anti-people policies of the ruling class parties. The parties of ruling classes are pursuing their power games and have no regard for the worsening conditions of people. They will not and can not solve these problems as they are the representatives of big bourgeois, big landlord classes. They can neither carry out radical land reforms nor can they fight against the imperialist and comprador capitalists. Hence they can lead the people out of the present difficulties. None of the fronts of the ruling class parties can and will carry out changes necessary for betterment of the conditions of people. Not any change of government within this system can carry out basic changes in our country or conditions of the people. People’s struggles alone can pave the way for mustering strength to challenge the status quo. It is agrarian revolutionary movement which can mobilize the peasant masses who are the main force for the revolutionary change, into changing this anti-people system. Only new democratic revolution can bring basic change in the lives of the people. Not the power games of the ruling class parties, but your struggles for your basic economic and political rights, against landlord oppression and for land and wages, against SEZ and forcible displacement of peasants, against giving agricultural land to industries and any land to MNCs, against job losses and for improvement of living and working conditions of workers, against stranglehold of imperialist capital in all sectors and for protection to small scale industries, against privatization and commercialization of health and education, against oppression and suppression of oppressed castes, against attacks on minorities and communalism, against attacks on tribals and their livelihood and against attacks towards women and for their equality in all walks of life, against unemployment and rise in prices of essential commodities, against corruption and all anti-people acts of ruling classes, are the need of the hour. CPI (ML)-New Democracy appeals to you to see through the games of the ruling class parties who package meaningless slogans in catchy phrases, all to maintain status quo, rule of the big landlords and big capitalists aligned to imperialist powers. See through their unprincipled, opportunist alliances all for enjoying power, amassing wealth at your expense while your suffer daily trials and tribulations. See through their deception. They have nothing to offer except more of the same and even worse. So our further appeal to you- Do not vote for the ruling class and revisionist parties. Communist Revolutionaries (CRs) including our party CPI (M-L)-New Democracy from the very beginning are fighting for the cause of people, have stood by the side of the people in their fight against all types of exploitation and oppression bearing huge suffering and losses at the hands of reactionary Govt. and classes in the form of arrest, torture, Jail, death etc. Communist revolutionaries held high the banner of true patriotism and internationalism and stubbornly fought against imperialism, hegemonism and expansionism. They opposed US aggression and occupation of Afghanistan under the pretext of countering terrorism, opposed occupation of Iraq and hanging of saddam Hussein, opposed Israel attack on Gaza and against Palestinians. They have supported just struggles of the people throughout the world in their fight for freedom and emancipation from exploitatation of imperialists and domestic reactionaries. They have fought for true independence of India by coming out from imperialist dependence and clutches. They have fought against tying India in strategic alliance with US imperialism, against Indo-Israel military cooperation, Indo-US nuclear deal. They are struggling for India quitting WTO. They are fighting against New Economic Policies (NEP) and its effects on the lives of the people. They fought against so called Imperialist globalization, against attack on common people under the policy of Liberalization, Privatization and globalization. They have sided and led peasant movement against landlord oppression, exploitation and anti peasant Govt. policies. They supported and lead peasant movement for land, wage, employment, comprehensive legislation for agricultural labourers, remunerative prices, cheap agricultural input, irrigation, electricity, civic amenities, against usury, against eviction of tenant peasants and for sharecropper rights etc. They unhesitatingly fought against forcible displacement in the name of SEZ, Industrialization, Urbanization, Development etc and played active role in many such movements like Kalinganagar(Orissa), Singur, Nandigram(WB), Posco(Orissa), Dadri(UP), Gangavaram, Polavaram, Coastal corridor, Kakinada (AP) Dankuni(WB), Niyamgiri(Orissa) etc. Communist revolutionaries fought against attack and exploitation on working class, against job cut, for better wages, benefit, better living and working condition. They are fighting for right of Job, health and education for all. They are fighting on the demand of supplying basic articles of consumption through Public distribution system to all needy people. They are fighting for protection of small, middle industry and handicraftsmen. For saving small traders, hawkers and vendors they are fighting against entry of MNCs and big capitalists in retail trade. Communist revolutionaries are staunchly fighting for abolition of Communalism, castism, regionalism and all types of discrimination on the basis of religion, caste and creed etc. Communist revolutionaries supported right of nations for self determination. In this it supported struggle of Jammu & Kashmir and Nagas. They are supporting separate statehood struggle of Gorkhaland and Telengana, supporting protection of rights of tribals, for reservation in job, educations and other facilities to oppressed and backward castes and other weaker sections of the population. CRs are fighting for equal rights of women and against all attacks and harassment on women, rape, child marriages, dowry, prostitution, harassment at working places, trafficking etc. They are fighting against decadent imperialist feudal culture, superstition etc and for promoting progressive democratic culture. They fought for protection and extension of democratic rights, against torture and custodial deaths, for release of all political prisoners and scrapping of all repressive laws and black acts like erstwhile POTA and present UAPA & NIA acts and AFSPA Only Communist Revolutionaries can lead the people in the struggle on their basic issues, against the rule of big bourgeois, big landlord classes, against imperialist exploitation and feudal oppression. Only communist revolutionaries can lead the people in the direction of changing the country in the interest of the vast masses of the people. Only communist revolutionaries can utilize the parliamentary struggle in a revolutionary way. CPI (ML) - New Democracy therefore appeals to you- In order to intensify basic struggles on people’s issues and develop agrarian revolutionary movement as a key to new democratic revolution, support and strengthen communist revolutionary organizations. Vote and support the candidates of CPI (ML)-New Democracy and other communist revolutionary organizations. Central Committee CPI (ML)-New Democracy |
