Central Committee of Communist Party of India (Marxist-Leninist)-New Democracy has called for countrywide protests on October 1, 2002 against designs of US rulers to attack Iraq, US supported Isreali aggression against Palestinians, sending of US troops and military advisors to crush revolutionary movements in a number of countries and increasing US military presence and interference in South Asia.

CPI(ML) units will organize demonstrations, rallies and other programmes to mobilise the people against US imperialist aggressions.

To secure its hegemony over the world, to overcome its deep-seated economic recession and to weaken its adversaries, the sole superpower, US imperialism, has embarked on a long war against third world countries and revolutionary movements. Through these aggressions, US imperialism wants to station its military in all corners of the globe in order to extend its military control over the world. It is trying to monopolize sea routes and energy resources. Its “war against terrorism” is to terrorize the world people not to question and oppose its unbridled exploitation of their natural resources and labour power, to provide its MNCs “freedom” to loot and plunder.

Its military aggression against Afghanistan continues unabated. It is trying to use various pretexts to attack Iraq. It has branded Iraq, Iran and North Korea as the “axis of evil”, betraying its evil intentions to attack them. With its support, Israel has launched genocidal aggression against Palestinians. It is intensifying its aggression against countries not dancing to its baton.

US imperialism wants to snuff out the glow of revolutionary movements for national liberation and genuine democracy. It has sent army and military advisors to crush revolutionary movements in Philippines, Nepal, Colombia and other Latin American countries.

Going against the national and people’s interests, Indian rulers have surrendered before US imperialism, begging it to make them junior partners in policing this region. Their ‘swadeshi’ pretensions have found unholy culmination in prostrating at the feet of US imperialism. Not only opening Indian economy to predators from US and other imperialist countries, they are tying the country to the chariot wheel of US world strategy of hegemony. Indian ports are thrown open to US Navy while US troops are landing on Indian soil in the name of joint exercises. They are acquiescing in US military presence in Sri Lanka and Nepal having supported US aggression against Afghanistan.

Aggressive wars by US imperialism, its increasing presence in South Asia and surrender by Vajpayee Govt. before US imperialism pose a grave danger to the people of the country. These must be opposed. CPI(ML)-New Democracy calls upon the people to join protest programmes in large numbers.
