Central Committee of CPI(ML)-New Democracy has strongly condemned the killing of innocents in Akshardham temple in Ahmedabad (Gujarat). On September 24, terrorists entered the temple and gunned down innocents killing 43 people in the process. CPI(ML)-New Democracy has condoled the death of the innocents killed in the attack and appealed to the people of Gujarat not to get provoked by the attack and fall prey to the conspiracies of communal forces.

According to a release issued by CPI(ML)-New Democracy “Killing of innocents in terrorist attacks and brutal genocide of minorities by RSS-BJP are two sides of the same coin whose purpose is to divert the attention of the people from their real problems and to deepen the communal division. They serve each other and disrupt the unity of the people.”

RSS-BJP have organized the genocide of Muslims in Gujarat and they have been portraying it as a reaction to burning alive of kar-sewaks at Godhara. However the investigations have nailed the story of Gujarat police that a Muslim mob had surrounded the coach and poured inflammable material into the coach. Now the police has woven another story.

RSS-BJP have spread a lot of communal venom in Gujarat. Therefore it is necessary that the attack on Akshardham temple be properly investigated and those guilty of the killing of innocents are punished. The only credible enquiry would be a judicial one headed by a sitting judge of High Court.
